Suggested Wines.
1) Sepp Grüner Veltliner, Kremstal, Austria, 2006 A light, early drinking style of Gruner Veltliner. The palate
combines citrus fruit characters such as lime and grapefruit with a hint of spice and a backbone of steely acidity. Dry, crisp and the perfect partner for mildly spicy fusion cooking.

2) Araldica Gavi La Luciana, Piemonte, Italy, 2007 IWC Bronze Medal Winner
Zesty citrus fruit characters, steely acidity and underlying mineral notes. Pure apple and pear bouquet, with vibrant varietal definition, a fresh and delicate wine.

3) The Ritual Shiraz Viognier, Western Australia, 2005 Plums and dark chocolate combine with a hint
of orange blossom and wafts of cedar. It is jam packed with sweet morello cherry fruit. In the mouth the wine is smooth, deep and delicious with a soft warm finish. The balance of fruit and acidity is sensational.

4) De Toren Fusion V, Stellenbosch, South Africa, 2002 Decanter Wine of the Year 2004
Deep red and purple in colour with intense layers of black fruits, coffee, leather, liquorice, cedar, plums and fine spices. A classic full rounded mouth-feel on the approach, leading to layers of fruit and feminine oak flavours lingering forever. An enigma of flavours is revealed as the wine opens up. With time delicate and voluptuous raspberry, black currant, liquorice and sweet oak flavours come to the front. The palette shows off a long lingering subtle caramel after taste. This elegant lady sets the ambience in her satin smooth dress, and there is enough charisma in this wine to be enjoyed way into the future.

5) Chateau Megyer 1993 Tokaji 5 Putonyas, Hungary, 1993 One of the world’s finest dessert wines.
Sensational Tokaji, sweet yet with a lovely citrus underpinning that keeps it from being heavy. Like melted honey, with lime and pineapple, this is one of those marvellous gems that makes you swoon with delight. Very sweet, high toned, even nervous nose with apple and quince notes. Lovely creamy richness in the mouth with a very satisfying complexity and good length. A perfect accompaniment for all cheeses, especially anything soft, blue and creamy .

6) Fonsecca Organic Port Decanter 2007 Silver Medal Winner
This is a non-vintage ‘reserve’ port which has been wood-matured for an average of five years in the traditional ‘pipes’ holding 550 litres each. Lusciously fruity and rich, it is full of black, licquorice fruit and sweet, spicy character. A great treat with mature farmhouse cheeses and nuts. Or have a small glass after a meal instead of dessert
.
